A Luxury Oxford Music Retreat

In April the Fitzwilliam String Quartet teamed up with musicologist Richard Wigmore and pianist Simon Callaghan for two days in Oxford devoted to piano and chamber music by Beethoven, Robert Schumann and Elgar. Interactive study sessions with non-technical discussion and instant demonstration from the musicians were complemented by biographical and cultural background.

Both study sessions and the Thursday evening concert took place in the New Space at New College; the Friday evening concert was in New College Chapel. Accommodation and the first dinner were at the Cotswold Lodge Hotel, Banbury Road.
